Description: Parnelli Award nominee Justin Collie designed this theatrical set for artist Maxwell. With no solid staging components – it was designed to literally “fit in a hamper”. The downstage layer comprised a digitally printed graphic with a corrugated design which was appliquéd to an IFR Resin Coated Sharkstooth Scrim. Set further upstage was a second soft-good piece – this with the digitally printed graphic this time applied to an opaque Encore Velour drape. When the downstage “cut drop” was front lit the scrim appeared opaque. Only when the rear drop was lit independently did the scrim vanish revealing both layers of backdrop and digitally printed design. Direct Print was the printing method chosen for this project.
