Airtex is a heavy weight canvas-like substrate with a heavy coating. It is a common substrate used for direct printing.

Pros:  The rigid surface of Airtex lends itself to permanent installation onto frames or structures. It is great when you need a heavy and opaque material. The heavy coating makes it take black well when the file is built with the black set to the optimized ratios (see digital file prep guidelines)

Cons: It is not considered to be a good touring substrate - as the coating can crack and the digital image deteriorate when put under heavy use and frequent folding.
